RFQ type:   NGO
Valid until:   21/12/2016

The study shall create a business network for 2-way communication about the business case of the Rail Baltic/Rail Baltica European gauge railway line project in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Finland. It will analyse the economic potential, spread information on the project and gather information about the potential customers' needs. The study will thereby stimulate the future use of the mixed freight and passenger line and enhance its added value for the whole North Sea–Baltic corridor.

Regular meetings will be organised in the 5 concerned countries, with a national or transnational audience. The network shall be informal, but reach a wide audience among the business community. The meetings shall be informed by an analysis of the potential impact of the Rail Baltic project on the economies of the 5 countries, and further enrich the analysis. The study shall therefore analyse the potential use of the existing and future railway lines by the different types of users from various economic sectors and identify possible measures to increase the volumes transported by rail.

The study shall build on and be complementary to existing initiatives such as the Interreg project CoRe (connector of regions), completed and ongoing CBA studies and work in close cooperation and coordination with the Joint Venture RB RAIL AS. Communication activities shall not go beyond the targeted business community.
